Crime.Organized

I can hardly wait for the new season of The Sopranos, and I can hardly remember what happened last season.  Good thing the folks at HBO realize it’s been eons since Tony and Carmella graced the small screen, and even the faithful are struggling to remember what happened last season.

HBO and Google Maps have brought us "Crime Organized" which is an interactive (and chronological) look at Season Five that provides a synopsis, images and video clips of past episodes.

See you soon, Uncle Jun!

American Idol Recap One

American Idol is primo laptop television.  And now that the so-so singers are getting the boot, I will provide my thoughts/comments/brilliance as the weeks go on…

The first "bottom four" are gone:

1. Becky O’Donahue:  Can’t believe the AI eye-candy is gone. She can’t sing a note, but she is hot.

2. Bobby Bennett: His rendition of Copacabana was painful at best.  Even Barry cringed.

3. Stevie Scott: Her cool name is the only thing memorable about this crooner.

4. Patrick Hall: Kinda sweet, sorta cute, too soft.  He’ll be a successful lounge singer.

So, more tunes tonight.  My money (and my eyes) are on Ace.  It took five seasons of AI for the women to get some eye-candy of our own?

MeeVee

Silicon Beat announced a newly funded company called MeeVee:

"Burlingame start-up MeeVee lets you search for TV programs and other video programming, and then gives you a way to set up your own personalized page, based on a planner, so you know when the programs you want to watch are coming up. It lets you share this with other people."

Okay, I am laptop television, so you know I watch tv… but do I really need this service?  Doesn’t Yahoo! already do this?  Hmmmmmmmmmm.

I will test it out and let you know what I think.  Anyone else out there trying MeeVee?

Balancing Act

"People who have learned to answer email on Sunday evenings also need to learn how to go to the movies on Monday afternoons. By redesigning the architecture of time, we can make room for work, leisure, and idleness."

Carmella on my mind

Busy at work + busy at home + sick kid = little time for laptop television

Regardless, here’s what is keeping my attention:

Fey and Baldwin Sitcom on NBC

This show could provide some great laptop television!  Let me know when I can set my Tivo!

Matt and Al learn to luge

I spend a lot of time blogging about my favorite night-time laptop television.  Today, I am going to blog about my morning laptop television: the Today show on NBC.  (Remember, this working mom has a crazy schedule.  I work in front of Katie, Matt, Al and Ann while I wait for my uber-sleeper baby to wake up.)

So today on Today.  I was forced to see something none of us should have seen.  Matt Lauer and Al Roker donning spandex and learning how to partake in the doubles luge.  Do you know this sport?  Let me just say this:  Al was on top.  (Yikes!)  And the quote of the morning comes from Matt:  "That’s not the handle."

Anyway, if you missed it, check out the video here.  I can honestly I could live a full and happy life without seeing this spectacle.

Oh well, I still enjoy "The Lauer Hour" and remain loyal to my morning laptop television.

Happy Valentine’s Day

My hubby gave me the best Valentine’s Day card today:

"You’ve been a pretty great wife.

To be honest, I thought there’d be a lot more cake baking and nude housework.

But overall, still pretty great!"

And then he wrote a whole bunch of mushy stuff I won’t share …

Happy Valentine’s Day!  I hope your day is filled with lots of love.

When two worlds collide

I was doing my daily read of Silicon Beat, and saw a post on a company I recognized.  It took me a second to realize WHY I know Zappos.com — the company is a sponsor of one of my favorite laptop television shows: What Not to Wear.

Clinton and Stacy have been bragging about Zappos.com long before Matt and Mike!  ;-)
