So You Think You Can Dance?

It’s down to the wire, because I really like all of the final eight dancers.  Here’s my recap of tonight’s show:

I hated the opening number even though it was choreographed to one of my favorite Broadway tunes from Chicago.  (Let’s hope Bebe Neuwirth didn’t see it!) It was a big night because three of my favorites were in the bottom four.  I nearly cringed when Travis AND Natalie AND Allison were placed in the basement.

I fast-forwarded through the Busta Rhymes performance.  I am too old and way too lame for him.

Nigel announced the tour of the Final Top Ten is "officially on."  Would it be lame for me to see it?  C’mon, who is with me?  Sheila?  Shelly? Jeff?

Anyhoo, I was stunned to see Allison leave the show. She really is the best all-around dancer on the show.  I was not surprised to see Ryan leave the show.  In my humble opinion, he was the one who needed to leave.

I have no idea who will be next… can’t wait for next week’s show!

Regardless, here are the headlines that caught my frazzled attention:

So You Think You Can Dance?

Two more leave:

First of all, killer opening number.  Fantastic choreography.  I am hitting iTunes ASAP to download Ramalama (Bang Bang) by Roison Murphy.  Here’s a recap of the week:

  • Who shined this week: Natalie, Benji and Travis
  • Who deserved to leave this week: Martha and Ryan
  • Bottom two women: Natalie and Martha
  • Who leaves this week: Martha (I will miss her Tina Turner-style bod.)
  • Bottom two men: Ryan and Dmitry
  • Who leaves this week: Dmitry (I will miss him… and his abs and hips!)

This show is a guilty pleasure.  Until next week …

Rock Star: Supernova

Man, I am having a hard time getting into this show.  Isn’t there a fine line between a rocker and a freak?  Doesn’t look like it.  Anyway, the best recap of this week’s show can be found at Pop Candy. (Props to Whitney.)

At the end of the day, I just want to see (and hear) more Dave Navarro and less Tommy Lee. That being said, I noticed my wish was granted when you compare this week’s show to last week’s show.  (Who had the heinous job of telling Tommy Lee to chill?)

Best line of the show? Dave tells an uber-skinny singer, “you look like you’re starving… go get a sandwich.”

Of course, we have to read this story about the lawsuit from the “other” Supernova.

So You Think You Can Dance? 2 of 12 Leave

Who was kicked off this week?

  • Ashley (she’s cute, but it was time)
  • Musa (shocker!)

Moving forward, the rules for the show change: New dance style each week, new partner each week, votes are for each dancer (not for the couple), two partner routines and one solo routine each week.

It’s down to the Top Ten!

So You Think You Can Dance?

Back to back shows tonight, and here’s a quick recap:

  • Who’s gone from last week?  Jessica the ballerina and Jaymz.  (He should be kicked off just for the spelling of his name.)
  • Biggest surprise of the night?  Martha and Travis doing the Fox Trot. They were awesome!
  • Biggest disappointment of the night?  Natalie doing what ever she was doing.  She was my favorite.  And I am still not an Ashley fan.
  • Best of the night?  I am in love with Benji and Donyelle (what a great Hairspray performance!)  They are my favorites by far.

LTV Headlines

NEWS FLASH!  Best news I have heard all day: Chris Daughtry Inks Record Deal!

I am so excited.  This is one AI alum album I might buy… just fire up my iTunes.

Other headlines to note:

Tonight I manage my laptop television watching Supernanny. Man, let me just say this, there are some people who are clueless parents!  Makes me think I know what I am doing afterall…

Emmy Nods are Out!

Headline reads: Fox drama "24" leads Emmy series nominations

Many LTV faves also are nominated: 24, The West Wing, Sopranos, Grey’s Anatomy, Scrubs and The Office.

The 58th annual Primetime Emmy Awards, hosted by comedian Conan O’Brien, will be broadcast live on NBC from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on August 27.

Wine and TV Don’t Mix

(And don’t even mention my laptop!)  I spent the holiday weekend with my sister in Napa — sigh, what a blast!  Tip for wine-lovers everywhere: drink Artesa wine.  I tried five reserve wines (Sav Blanc, Chard, Merlot, Pinot and Cab) and bought a bottle of each.  Fantastic find in the Carneros region of Napa.

Anyway, tonight is a big night for LTV.  I am watching So You Think You Can Dance on TiVo, and I caught the premiere of Rock Star: SuperNova.  (You know I love Dave Navarro, and thought it was comical for Tommy Lee to compete for every ounce of attention.)

Here are some other headlines catching my eye:

Finally, and totally seriously, can someone please tell me the difference between Krumping and Hip-hop?
