I love this show, and tonight’s episode was great as usual. Each designer had to chose three words that represent who they are as a designer, and then design a dress around those words. Here is my take on this week’s designs:
- Michael: The other designers hated it, the judges were lukewarm, but I loved it. Absolutely loved the rich purple color. Of course, the best line of the entire night came from Michael: "I even made a white girl look like she has some ass… that’s how sexy my dress is."
- Laura: The dress looked too much like last week’s winning design. I liked it a lot, but it was not creative or original enough to win tonight.
- Uli: Loved this dress. And it was a good change for Uli.
- Jeffrey: Hated it. I do not like tulip skirts. And the red sash was too contrasting with the beautiful blue color on top.
And tonight’s results:
- Winner: Uli (Was this her first win?)
- Auf’d: No one… there will be four designers in the finale.
Of course, I already knew this because the Olympus Fashion Week news hit the Web ages ago!
Until next week, Carry on…
Fall shows begin + traveling husband + job + kid = one frustrated blogger
Anyway, I am totally behind on my blogging about the shows that premiered this week. (Yes, this is primo Laptop Television.) Anyway, here are some initial reactions; I would love to hear what you think!
New Shows:
- Studio 60 (I liked it, even though it’s a little too much Josh and Chandler go to LA.)
- Smith (Ray Liotta and Virginia Madsen are good in this TV-version of Ocean’s 11.)
Returning Favorites:
- Boston Legal (Loved, loved, loved the season premiere. Denny Crane!)
- Oprah (Hmmm, not impressed yet. And I heart Oprah.)
- Ellen (Good as always!)
- Two and a Half Men (Did not keep my attention.)
- Dancing with the Stars (How embarrassing, but Emmit Smith is adorable!)
- ER (I know they write the baby-scenes to get to moms like me.)
On my TiVo:
- The Office (On the top of my list for a reason!)
- CSI Miami
- Grey’s Anatomy
- My Name is Earl
Can’t Wait:
Did I miss anything?
The Good: Project Runway
- Favorites: Laura, Michael and Uli
- So happy to see Laura win!
- Hated Jeffrey’s "whore" outfit.
- I adore Michael.
- Good-bye Kayne. May your beauty pageant dresses keep you eternally happy.
The Bad: Rockstar Supernova
- Not so excited that Lukas won. (Anyone else?)
- I will check out whatever band Magni fronts.
- This news is pretty ironic. (How PC is that?)
The Ugly: Dancing with the Stars
- Boring…..
- I really, really tried to watch tonight.
- The highlights were last night: Emmit Smith (adorable!), Joey Lawrence (no kidding! woah!) and Mario Lopez (sigh!).
I received questions about Ramalama (Bang Bang), which is the song that accompanied the "Zombie Dance" on this season of SYTYCD. The song is by Irish singer Roisin Murphy, and is a great iTunes song that keeps my commute bearable.

Wow — Ellen at the Oscars, Reality TV lives large, and craziness ensues.
Some uber-fans (with a lot of time on their hands) have uploaded some of my favorite dances on YouTube:
Why — with Alison and Ivan
A "favorites" collection (it’s seven minutes long)
Benji on "Regis and Kelly"

Here is a perspective on tonight’s fantastic Project Runway:
Theme: Couture gowns in 2 days and $300 Euros
Highlights: Champagne in Paris… need I say more? (Okay, I can add Michael’s comment that he was "sweating like a whore in church.")
Lowlights: Vincent sucking up to Catherine, Jeffrey being an ass (especially the rude comment about Laura’s pregnancy)
My favorite dress: Uli’s beautiful french-lavender gown
Made me cringe: Vincent’s bland gown (hated the top), Jeffrey’s bright yellow plaid (ouch)
Winner: Jeffrey’s "fashion forward" design (blech!)
Going home: Vincent
Until next week… carry on!
The photos of Suri have arrived! Hat-tip to Pink is the New Blog. And (of course) Katie Couric for breaking the Vanity Fair pics.
Wow, it was a busy Labor Day weekend. Here are LTV headlines:
And we move into the Fall television season….
I caught the season opener for The Ellen DeGeneres Show today. She is fantastic and funny (as always).
Justin Timberlake was the guest, and his musical performance was great. I downloaded SexyBack on Day One, and the rest of the music sounded just as good. I was not too impressed with his ability to speak in semi-complete sentences, but he is a cutie-pie.
Check out Ellen’s new blog!
Looking forward to Katie’s debut on CBS tomorrow…
