ABC Dumps Donny Osmond-hosted Show (Yeah, this show was painfully bad. And I literally could only watch about 10 seconds of it.)
Sanjaya’s "American Idol" run — is it credible? (At a loss for words on this one. I have already shared my opinion on this season.)
Paulina hangs up her dancing shoes (I am waiting to see some magic this season. Hasn’t happened yet.)
Whacked ‘Sopranos’ actors recall exits (Anxiously waiting for the return of Tony and the family.)
R.E.M. to unveil tracks from new album (Wow, I had no idea this was in the works.)

LTV Headlines

So much laptop, so little television. Regardless, here are the headlines:

Ailing "Law & Order faces uncertain future (Now, THIS is serious! C’mon, I have seen EVERY episode. Let’s rally to make sure my favorite show, and my favorite leading man, stays in business!)
Brenneman scrubs in for a "Grey’s Anatomy" Spinoff (Wow, two great shows combine. Maybe I will tune-in after all!)
Emmitt Smith to join ESPN as an analyst (Yes, but will he dance? Seriously, another reason for my hubby to watch Sports Center?)
NBC Redecorates The Office (Do whatever you want, just keep this show running!)
New on DVD: Casino Royale (I have been waiting and waiting and waiting to see this flick. Mommies with two-year-olds have to wait for the DVD.)

It was more like "laundry television" rather than "laptop television", but it was pure joy on a Saturday afternoon. I watched the American Cup gymnastics championship, and enjoyed seeing a new Sweetheart hit the gymnastics scene in the US. No, excuse me, the world.

An energetic and extremely talented 15-year-old girl (from my hometown of West Des Moines, Iowa), won the Cup during her first appearance in a Senior-level competition. Shawn Johnson is prime for a spot on the Olympic team next year in Beijing, and I am happy to head up her (unofficial) California Fan Club!

What a fantastic opportunity for the US gymnastics scene, and what an *amazing* opportunity to highlight Shawn Johnson, her coaches and the state of Iowa in the world of gymnastics.

Of course, I would be remiss if I did not give a shout-out to American Jonathan Horton, who proudly won back-to-back American Cup championships.
