American Idol Recap Five

The highlight of this week’s American Idol was Barry Manilow.  Okay, I am not a “Fanilow” but I was happy to be reminded that he is one talented dude.  (And it’s no wonder that one of the first songs I can remember is Copacabana.)

Okay, so we finally got rid of Kevin.  The kid is adorable, but he cannot sing.  And he was getting a little too big for his uber-small britches.  It had to be Kevin or Bucky –  both are average at best.  Lisa (the third in the bottom three) is darling, but her performance this week was weak.

Other thoughts:

  • Ace is losing steam as he rides the cuteness wave.  (His big brother is just as cute, and I’m too old for both of them.)

  • Chris remains my favorite.  (I can actually see myself buying his music.)

  • Katharine was awesome this week.

  • Pickler is annoying as she play the stupid card. (I would smack my daughter if she played stupid on purpose.)

  • Mandisa was great, as usual, and I was happy to hear Simon recognize her performance as “sexy.”

Okay, enough drivel for one day.  AI is mindless, addictive and perfect laptop television.
