I love January for many reasons. I get to attend a cool New Year’s party, watch college football, enjoy vacation time with my family, and prepare for the new season of television! Here’s a quick list of my must-watch shows starting up in January 2009:
Superstars of Dance = January 4 (I’m not proud of this one, but I will watch with my daughter!)
Biggest Loser Families = January 6 (I always cry when I watch this show, maybe because I watch while sitting on the couch?)
Top Chef = January 7 (It’s a short hiatus, but my favorite cooking show is always welcomed back.)
The Office = January 8 (Michael, Dwight, Jim, Pam and the crew are my favorite characters on TV.)
30 Rock = January 8 (Please welcome Liz Lemon! [said in my best Oprah-voice])
24 = January 11 (Jack is back!)
American Idol = January 13 (Even my 4-year-old daughter knows I love this show. Guilty pleasure.)
Lost = January 21 (It’s about time!)
Big Love = January 18 (I canceled HBO when the Sopranos left the air, time to renew for Bill and the ladies!)
Okay, what is not on my list? What other shows are Laptop Television-worthy?
In the meantime, does anyone know the start date for Season 6 of Project Runway? According to Wikipedia, the season wrapped filming on Oct. 17, 2008 and the finalists will show collections at New York Fashion Week in February 2009. The site also says the first episode of Season 6 will air in January 09… anyone have details? Reminder that this time we are watching Tim and Heidi on Lifetime TV, not on Bravo.

Just trying to squeeze in some television between mothering, working and crashing.

Glad I found your list, I’ve been in the UK too long and each time I come home for a visit my parents watch re-runs of Sienfeld.
I plan to check out the new show “Trust Me” on TNT starting on Jan. 26th. From the website: http://www.tnt.tv/series/trustme/
“Eric McCormack ( Will & Grace ) and Tom Cavanagh ( Ed ) return to series television in TNT’s TRUST ME , a sharp, witty drama series that centers on two best friends working as creative partners at a top-ranked Chicago ad agency.”
Love these actors and I’m counting on them having great, smart chemistry. It’s more than 2 weeks out, so TiVo doesn’t find it yet. Be patient! Check it out!
I am never going out on a weeknight for this entire month! I just love all this great NEW programming
I can’t wait for LOST! YAY!
I can’t wait for Lost. And AI, which is a guilty pleasure but not as pleasure-y or as guilty as Gossip Girl. Also, I have DirecTV and have already seen Friday Night Lights season 3 it’s really, really good.
I’m so-o-o happy I ran across your link on SV Momblogs. I am a closet media junkie and have experienced the disapproving looks of people who think I shouldn’t have time or the inclination to be interested in anything but mommyhood.
DVR on my dish is my lifeline, and Lost is my masochistic pleasure. I can get all 5 of my sons to sit for any dancing show, and one is an aspiring chef, thanks to Top Chef’s Fabio.
I watched Trust Me, and was vaguely disappointed but I’m not sure why. I’m interested in hearing what others thought of it.
Herzlichen Dank, ein gruess.
Thank you for the good post. I really love this tv show. Can’t wait for the next episode ! Keep up the awesome work with that
