Those cupcakes do sound delicious! Our family favorite is definitely s'mores. The princesses may have gotten us hooked, but now we all look forward to roasting up this sweet treat. There are so many amazing marshmallow varieties/flavors out there to make them even more delicious than what I remember from my childhood camping days -- I especially love thesein caramel swirl: http://www.plushpuffs.com. Cheers!

This is an incredibly easy dessert and soooo yummy! Great for balmy summer evenings with a nice scoop of vanilla icecream! The secret incredient is balsamic vinegar.

3 cups fresh fruit (berries work well. my favorite is a combo of raspberries and blackberries. peaches are nice too)
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
10 tbsp sugar
1 cup flour
1/4 cup oatmeal
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cut up
pinch of salt

preheat oven to 400. in glass or ceramic bowl, toss fruit with balsamic vinegar and 4 tbsp suger. Let stand for 30 mins.
In food processor, pulse together remaining 6 tbsp sugar, flour, oatmeal, butter, salt until mixture resembles fine bread crumbs.

Pour fruit mixture in a greased square glass baking dish (approx. 8X8). Sprinke crumble mixture over fruit. Shake slightly to allow ingredients to settle. Bake until the top is golden, about 30 mins. Serve with vanilla ice cream.

When I double the recipe I use a 9X11 baking dish. Also you can easily make this ahead of time, then throw in the oven to cook. A crowd pleaser for sure!

I've lived here about seven years myself, and I love it in Austin. It's just so chill and laid back; it's amazing. I'm going to college here; I won't be able to leave Austin for another couple of years. I hope you learn to love Austin as much as any other Austinite here!

It's ipoartmnt to remember that not all kids are the same and they need a chance to learn to be gracious as winners AND losers. If my sons asked me to take it easy, I would, and they let one another win sometimes. At only (nearly) 8 and (nearly) 6, they don't get worked up too much when they lose, and they're very kind when they win.I'm a lucky dad!

Even through the sad circumstances, a amazing gift has been given to me. I feel selfish thinking it let alone writing about it, but I have to share what reading her dad's posts has done to me. I thank God each day that He created a beautiful fighter called Skyler, as well as a wonderful family, friends, and care team. Her recovery has been miraculous. And THAT is the most amazing part. However, selfishly, through all of it, I have been able to acquaint myself, and grow to love Skyler's family. This means the world to me to connect in some way with those who fill your familiy's life. Your words Stacy, to love, hug, and give time to your kids is my new mantra. Thank you for allowing us to share in her healing. Go Sky Go!
